Boston RedSox "2004"

The World Series Champions. " 2004 " Boston RedSox.

This was the team that finally got it done in the most impossible way of all time. By coming back in the ALCS down 3-0 in the best of seven to win 4 straight from the NewYork Yankees and earn the right to move on to the World Series. It ended 4 generations of frustration and humility.
A steal by Dave Roberts and back to back game ending hits by David Ortiz and it was back to the Bronx for game 6 and the unprobable grand slam by Johnny Damon in game 7 that nailed it shut and in one deciding series the greatest comback in all of sports was complete and the curse was over. If it would of been any other team that the RedSox beat and not The Yankees I do not believe the feeling of satisfaction and closer would of been felt.
It was then on to St Louis and 4 games that felt anti-climatic but still the route was on and the boys were champions of the world. A major league record 8 straight play-off wins was established and the invincible Yankees no longer seemed so invincible.
The chants of "1918" from the Yankee faithful no longer rang true and Bucky "Fucken" Dent was just another player that got it done for his team and the whole he ripped in our hearts with that cheap ass home run with yaz looking up was just a memory faded into our past like every other game played.
"Our boys had done it, with 2 million people looking on we celebrated like Champions and cheered our hero's on".
